Purple Visits is now in most prisons in the UK where you can have prison video calls with a prisoner. You can video call a prisoner using your mobile phone or tablet and the video call to the prison lasts 30 minutes. If you need prison help, check out my prison services here

Most prisons in the UK now offer purple visits to be able to let the prisoner have video calls, if you would like to check if the prison you want to video call supports prison facetime you can check here

To be able to video call a prisoner via the purple visits service, you will need to download an app called ‘The Purple Visits App’ which you can get from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Purple Visits - How To Setup

Terms for Having a Prison Video Call with the Purple Visits Facetime App

  • All prison video callers must be on the prisoners visitor list
  • The Main Person calling must be over 18
  • Video Calls are recorded and monitored
  • Inappropriate Behaviour will pause the call
  • If the caller screenshots or records, the call will be paiused
  • If someone not booked comes on screen, the call will be paused
  • Appropriate Dress code
  • Internet connection, or 4G is recommended, 3G minimum
  • ID required, driving license, passport or other government-issued photo ID

COST: £9.50
Visitor call costs (per call basis up to a maximum of 120 minutes)
Visitors can have upto 3 verified users sharing one device
You can have up to 4 people on the call at the same time, however, all need to be on the prisoners visitor list and listed when you book the video call.
