Brixton Prison.
HMP Brixton Prison is locate in South London, Lambeth. It can hold upto 798 Prisoners from Cat C and D. The prison was opened in 1819 but in July 2012 it was updated to a resettlement prison for the local area.

In February 2017 it became primarily a Cat C prison which also houses a large number of sex offenders.
- The Accommodation at Brixton Prison:
A wing: Category C prisoners as well as the London Pathways Unit (for prisoners with personality disorders that were being released in London); temporary location for the segregation unit - B wing: First night and induction unit
- C wing: Enhanced level prisoners and full-time workers
- D wing: Drug recovery and health and well-being unit
- G wing: Sexual offender prisoners

HOW TO BOOK A VISIT TO BRIXTON PRISON
To be able to book a visit in Brixton prison you must:
- be on that person’s visitor list
- book your visit up to 28 days in advance
- have the required IDwith you when you go
At least one visitor must be 18 or older at every visit.
To book a visit to Brixton Prison, You can do this online here. You will need the prisoners number, their date of birth and the dates of birth of the visitors. If you haven’t heard back through email after a few days, call 02086781433.
Directions To Brixton Prison
If you are planning on getting to Brixton Prison by train, the nearest station is Brixton railway and underground stations which is about a mile away from the prison.
If going by bus, there are several local bus routes pass the prison.
Is there parking at Brixton Prison?
Unfortunately, due to being in London, there is no parking at the Prison
The Visiting Times For Brixton Prison:
- Monday to Wednesday: 2:15pm to 3:15pm and 4:00 to 5:00pm (Tuesday 2:15pm reserved for shielding residents)
- Thursday: 8:30am to 9:30am, 10:30am to 11:30am, 2:15pm to 3:15pm and 4:00pm to 5:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 9:15am to 10:15am, 11:00am to 12:00pm and 2:45pm to 3:45pm
