Book a prison visit online UK to visit an inmate inside a HMP Prison? You have a couple of options when booking a prison visit. Either Call the prison direct or you can book the prison visit online. If you are supporting someone inside, you may benefit from downloading our Prison Guide, Click here
Phone calls can be extremely time consuming and frustrating, normally getting incorrect information from whoever picks up the phone at the prison. My suggestion would be to book a prison visit online. If you prefer to call, click here for a list of the prisons and their contact details.
When you visit in the prison, TAKE AT LEAST 2 FORMS OF ID! Or you may be turned away. Id recommend take a bundle with you, driving licence or passport and a recent utility bill with your name and address on it. If you need prison help, you can click here for our service

What to Expect on a Prison Visit:
Arrive early, prepare to queue and make sure that you take your ID. Take money with you, approx £20 is the allowance, some only want you to take coins and not notes (for security reasons) as there is a cafe at most prisons and, trust me, it will be greatly appreciated by the prisoners!
If you are thinking of taking property with you for the prisoner, this usually isnt allowed on visits, there are certain drop-off days for property so check with the prison or get the information from the prisoner.
During the visit you can embrace at the start and the end, you and the prisoner are required to stay seated for the duration of the prison visit. Prison Officers are also usually mingling around and doing laps of the prison visits hall.
Will I Get Searched at The Prison Visit?
Yes, everyone entering the prison will be searched, you will have to put your belongings into a locker and will get a general Airport style pat down and check before entering. Sometimes there are also drug dogs present.
