Bure Prison

HMP Bure Prison is a Category C Prison located just outside of Norwich. It can hold upto 624 inmates and is a male only prison. Bure Prison is built on an old RAF site and was constructed in 2009 and is primarily for men convicted of a sex offence. The latest report from inspectors state that: “Bure is unquestionably a safe prison”

Bure is made up of 7 residential units and mostly single cells. Five units each have four double cells totalling 20 across the prison. All cells have a personal safe and integral sanitation. Each unit has communal showers.

What are the visiting times at Bure Prison?

Visiting hours are between 9:30-11:30 (Weekends only) and 14:00-16:00 (Fri, Sat, Sun)

HOW TO BOOK A VISIT TO BURE PRISON

You can book a visit to Bure Prison online here. You will need the name and date of birth of the person you are visiting and their prisoner number.Prison booking staff will check what’s available and confirm your visit by email.You can also email to book a visit [email protected]  or call Bure Prison Directly on 01603 326252, lines are open:

  • Tue: 17:00 – 20:00
  • Wed: 17:00 – 20:00
  • Thu: 17:00 – 20:00
  • Fri: 08:30 to 12:30
  • Sat – Sun: 08:30 – 16:30

Directions To Bure Prison

If you are getting there by train, nearest train station is Norwich which is about 15 miles away. To get a taxi from the station will cost you about £20 one way!

Is there parking at Bure Prison?
There are parking facilities at the prison, follow the signs upon arrival. Dedicated spaces for disabled persons are also available.
