Stocken prison
Erected in 1985 as a youthful lawbreaker institution, HMP Stocken opened as a order C closed training prison. It has since expanded with new accommodation being added in 1990, 1997, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2011 which has significantly expanded our roll. In addition, new shops were erected as part of the internee accommodation expansion to insure that Stocken is suitable to offer purposeful exertion to all of the captures in our care.

How to book a visit at Stocken Prison?
You can book your visit by telephone. There is no online booking service available.
Visiting times:
- Tuesday and Thursday: 9am to 11am and 2pm to 4pm
- Saturday: 2pm to 4pm
- Visits will last for a minimum of one hour
You will not be admitted if you are more than half an hour late.

How to get to Stocken Prison – Stocken Prison Directions
Stocken Prison is a men’s prison near Oakham in Rutland, East Midlands.
To Book A Stocken Prison Visit You Must:
All visitors are required to arrive 15 minutes prior to the visit starting. Any person who arrives after the visit has started will not be permitted entry.
For all visits to Low Moss, visitors are required to bring photographic ID and proof of address (dated within the past 3 months). The only forms of photographic ID that will be accepted are:
- Valid Passport
- Valid Photographic
- Driving Licence (full or provisional)
- Citizen Card
- Senior Citizens Bus Pass Travel Card (issued by Scottish Government)
The only forms of proof of address that will be accepted are:
- Utility bill
- Council tax bill
- Benefit book
- Bank statement
- other letter from official source
