Elmley Prison
Elmley Prison is one of the largest prisons on the isle of sheppey. It has a capactiy of 985 prisoners but as with all prisons, is overcrowded and currently has 1252 prisoners. Its a Cat B/C male prison and is seen as a local prison to Kent local courts. The other 2 are swaleside and standford hill. The prison opened its doors in 1992 and can hold upto 1252 prisoners.
Elmley Prison is a local category B/C Male Prison and is located close to the village of Eastchurch in Kent. The prison holds sentenced and unsentenced men and unsentenced YOs.
Elmley prison offers a variety of educational courses including basic key skills, IT, Art, ESOL and the PE department offers a range of qualifications. Employment at Elmley range from horticulture, environmental services and recycling production workshops, laundry, industrial cleaning and catering

How to get to Elmley Prison, Directions to Elmley Prison:
If you are going to get to Elmley prison by Train, the nearest station is Sheerness which is still 8 miles from the prison.
By car, follow the A249 to sittingbourne, sheerness and then over the bridge to isle of sheppey.
