Low Newton Prison, a prison and young offender institution for women aged 18 and over, is located in Brasside, near Durham. Booking Information for Low Newton Prison Visits
New inmates are allowed one unbooked ‘reception visit’ in their first week. All other visits must be booked 48 hours to 2 weeks in advance. Unconvicted prisoners may have up to 2 weekday visits and 1 weekend visit, while convicted prisoners are entitled to at least 2 visits per month, with the possibility of more based on monthly reviews.

Entering Low Newton Prison
