HMP Spring Hill
Spring Hill Prison, originally known as Spring Hill House, boasts a rich history dating back to 1872. Initially a family home, it served as a wartime base for MI6 and the Special Operations Executive in 1941. After varied post-war uses, it became the first Open Prison for male prisoners in the UK in 1953. The prison has a capacity of 335 as of April 2013.
Visiting Information for HMP Spring Hill
To book a visit, you must do so by telephone, as no online booking service is available. Visiting times are on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:45 pm to 3:15 pm. Visitors should not arrive before 1:30 pm, and late arrivals (more than half an hour late) will not be admitted. The booking line (01296 445 082) is open Monday to Friday, 10 am to 12 pm.
