HMP Holme House

HMP Holme House is located in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, is a Category B men’s prison. Operational since 1992, it has expanded over the years and now has a capacity of 1179 inmates. It was re-roled as a Category C training prison in 2017. The prison accommodates both adult males and young offenders, either convicted or on remand, from local courts. It encompasses seven self-contained residential communities, including a drugs therapeutic community, one for vulnerable prisoners, and various wings for sentenced prisoners, first-night inmates, veterans, and sex offenders. Holme House also includes a healthcare unit and a segregation unit​

HMP Holme House Facilities and Programs:

Inmates at Holme House have access to a range of healthcare services, educational opportunities, vocational training, and work programs. These include laundry, warehouse work, woodmill, joinery and upholstery, painting and decorating, textiles, assembly, printing, industrial cleaning, gardens and horticulture, waste management, and computer coding. Education is provided by Novus, offering academic and vocational courses. Additionally, prisoners can engage in sports, use gym facilities, and access a multi-faith chaplaincy team

Booking a Visit: To book a visit, you must be on the approved visitors list, which the inmate can arrange. Visits can be booked online through the official prison visits booking system or by contacting the prison’s visit booking line​​.
