HMP Standford Hill

HMP Standford Hill, forming part of the Sheppey Cluster alongside HMP Elmley and HMP Swaleside, is an open Category D prison. It first opened in 1950, with the current accommodation for prisoners built in 1986. The facility primarily houses male adult prisoners and has a capacity of 464 inmates​​.

Visiting Information for HMP Standford Hill

Visits to HMP Standford Hill can be booked by telephone, as there is no online booking service. The visiting hours are as follows:

  • Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday: 1:45 pm to 3:45 pm

Note that visitors will not be admitted if they are more than half an hour late. The booking line (0300 060 6603) is open Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm. Alternatively, visits can also be booked via email at [email protected]​​.
