HMP Ranby is located approximately one mile from Ranby village, three miles from Retford, and six miles from Worksop on the A620. Public transport options include buses running along the Retford to Worksop A620, stopping outside the prison, and the East Coast Railway line from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh, with Retford station being around three miles from the prison. For those traveling by car from the south, directions involve exiting M1 at junction 30 (A619 Worksop) and following signs for Worksop, then the A57 to Retford, and finally the A620 Retford road.
