HMP Lincoln

HMP Lincoln is a Category B local prison situated in the city center of Lincoln. Established in 1872, it has the capacity to hold up to 729 remand and convicted adult male prisoners. The prison primarily serves the courts of Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, and Humberside. HMP Lincoln comprises various wings, including A wing (refurbished in 2007 with 216 men), B wing (150 men), C wing (198 prisoners in mixed accommodation), D wing (segregation unit), and E wing (165 men, mainly for vulnerable prisoners like sex offenders). Historically, it replaced the Lincoln Castle prison and was the site of 18 executions between 1900 and 1961. The prison now offers various activities such as workshops, vocational training, education, a gym, and laundry facilities
